3. Chateau de Chillon, Montreux

Chillon Castle , a four century old and one of the most visited water fortress located in the heart of the Swiss Riviera on the banks of Lake Geneva.  This fortress served as a seat of the wealthy Counts of Savoy. You can either stroll by the lakeside or enjoy a walk through the Gothic underground rooms; the Camera Domini; a room occupied by the Duke of Savoy, decorated with medieval murals, the Chapel that is adorned with 14th century paintings, towers, subterranean vaults, bedrooms, weaponry and furniture have been preserved in their original form.
