5. Materials only don’t make you a better person

Our actions should be geared towards improving our overall well-being as well as the welfare of others. We should evaluate our actions based on the value they will add to us. The actions should, therefore, improve us morally and make us more responsible people. For materialistic people, it is very hard to see beyond the need of a comfortable life. They seek to multiply their material possessions only hence forgetting about other important things in life. Materialism, therefore makes them worse off. They never get incentives to improve their mental and physical well-being nor improve the lives of others.
