9. Materialism makes you envious

Materialism will lead you to the deadly sin of envy. When your mind becomes obsessed with the desire for wealth acquisition only, you fall prey of envy. You will then start comparing yourself with other people who seem to be above you in the ranks of material possessions as there always will be richer people than you. As a rule in life, there will always be greater or lesser persons than you.
