Fruits and vegetables have different digestion pace. Fruits are easily digested and many nutritionists claim they are partially digested by the time they reach the stomach. Also, they have high sugar content that hinders the digestion of vegetables. Similarly, high protein fruits and vegetables should not be combined with starchy fruits and vegetables as our body needs an acidic base to digest protein and alkaline base to digest starches.
