Many of the old walls surrounding beautiful town of Altamurastill exist. Frederick II built the grand cathedral in 1231. After an earthquake in the 14^th century, it was modified and the interior was completely changed in the 16th century. The nicely carved doorway above the main façade is a great attraction. The door is filled with finely portrayed details of many biblical scenes accommodated in a small space.
