Founded on August the 15th 1537 on the left bank of the Rio Paraguay by Juan de Salazar under the name of Nuestra Señora Santa María de la Asunción, the capital of Paraguay with its agglomeration concentrates more than a third of the population of the country. In other words, the Historic Center of Asunción is lost in the middle of a vast metropolis with very disparate urbanism.

1. The Palacio Lopez

The palace Lopez, named after the name of the President who helped the independence of the city, rises between colonial architecture and park in bloom. On the left side, a safer path to access the bay.
